Stephen Forde
Stephen’s experience encompasses the full range of Chartered Building Surveying duties, from design and project management to pre-acquisition surveys, Party Wall and Expert Witness roles.
Stephen’s career started in the West End of London before moving between Exeter and Bristol for a few years and finally settling in Exeter in the late 1990s where he worked with Kevin O’Brien for 8yrs before setting up Forde George Surveyors with David George and running that business for 14yrs.
Forde Surveying is Stephen’s latest exciting venture which allows him to follow his desire to provide competitive surveying services to all his existing and new clients throughout the South West and beyond.

I have known Steve Forde of Forde Surveying for over 20 years. As a fellow Chartered Surveyor and an estate agent with a national firm in Exeter and now as a property search agent I deal with mainly historic and high value properties on behalf of my clients.
Over the years I have recommended Steve to undertake building surveys on numerous properties of varying age, size and complexity. Steve always provides a competitive quotation for his work. He endeavours to visit properties, undertake his inspection and report promptly to my clients. His inspections are thorough and his reports are detailed, clearly set out and easy to read.
He also adds in appendices to highlight points which a purchaser’s solicitor should check, where necessary recommends further specialist professional reports to cover such matters as asbestos, private drainage, electrical, Japanese Knotweed or for a structural engineer’s report. Most helpfully he provides a schedule of works needed to be undertaken with a timescale and some estimated costings. No other building surveyor that I know is so professional, approachable and always prepared to discuss any details or answer any follow up questions.
