Forde Surveying Limited is a chartered building surveying practice based in Exeter and operating throughout the South West peninsular and further afield. It is owned and managed by chartered building surveyor Stephen Forde.
Our Services

Surveys & Inspections
We undertake independent Full Building Survey reports on a wide range of residential properties including modern bespoke houses through to large historic country houses and most properties in between.

Commercial Services
We undertake pre-acquisition survey reports on a wide range of commercial properties. These include shops, offices, industrial and warehouse buildings, care homes, leisure facilities and hotels.

Residential Services
In addition to offering a Full Building surveying services we also offer Party Wall services for developers or adjoining owners. We undertake defects inspections and analysis for specific building faults.

Architectural Design & Project Management
Our services include design, extension and refurbishment works including submission of planning and Building Regulations Drawings as well as contract administration services.

Planned Maintenance Reports
We are experienced in undertaking Preventative Planned Maintenance reports for a range of building types and uses including school sites, hotel complexes, individual historic buildings, blocks of flats or apartments.

Historic Building Commissions
We are experienced in working with Grades I, II* and II Listed Buildings. Over the last 25 yrs Stephen Forde has worked on the specification of repairs, alterations and reinstatement of multiple numerous historic buildings.

Motor Trade
We have specific specialist experience of working on motor trade property. Over the last 30 yrs we have provided advice to the Volkswagen Group as well as Mercedes and numerous private dealerships across the country and in Scotland and Wales.

Building Defects and Expert Witness
We can offer advice on building condition and defects either on an adhoc basis for minor concerns of property owners and users or, we can be instructed by your legal team specifically in connection with court proceedings.

Party Wall Act 1996
Whether you are planning on undertaking building work that involves work to a party wall or excavations within 6m of a Party Wall or, whether you have been served notice by an adjoining owner undertaking such work, we can assist you.
